Outdoor Market starts Sunday, Mother's Day!

It looks like we have a perfect day in store for opening day
of the outdoor market this Sunday
and we'll have FREE SEEDLINGS for all Mother's for Mother's Day!
So, bring your Mom by and we'll give her a special treat.

Special thanks to The River Garden for generously donating the seedlings.

Meg Crawford from Twin Ponds Nursery reports that she'll have
the ever fleeting RAMPS
for sale this Sunday.  Come and get them while they last!

Meg is promoting ramp sustainability and will be offering leaf only ramps.
More info here: Ramp Sustainability

Here's a recipe to give them a try.

Spring Ramp Orzotto with Goat Cheese

INGREDIENTS:
24 Ramp leaves - finely sliced
1 Qt Water
1 Tbsp Salt
1/2 Lb Orzo
3 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
Zest of 1/2 Lemon
Black Pepper
3 oz Goat Cheese – crumbled

DIRECTIONS:

Bring 1 quart of salted water to a boil.  Add the orzo, reduce the heat to medium-low to gently boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the water is almost all absorbed. Add the ramps and stir until wilted.
Stir in the butter. Add the lemon zest and several grinds of black pepper.
Transfer to serving plates and top with crumbled goat cheese. Serves 2
